As coaches, we must have clients coaching clients in order for our coaching business to succeed. I’m sure you are a great coach, but what is all that coaching good for if the people that need you the most cannot find you?

Having a website and marketing online is a very effective way to get people to find your services. So, I put together these 5 essential online coach marketing strategies for you to use starting today.

If you follow the proven ways of building your coaching business online, you can easily succeed. You will need to apply these marketing strategies consistently, be focused and dedicated to growing your coaching business.

The online marketing strategies are as follows:

1. Content

When I say content, I mean you have to write. Write for your potential clients. Most of my coaching clients did not find me through a listing or advertisement. Most of my clients found me through my content. Write for your blog and write for others.

Blog
Create a blog. The more blog articles you put out, the easier search engines will be able to find you. Who are the customers of these search engines? The customers are the people who is looking for information. So the search engines want to give them just that, information. So, put the information out there.

Articles
Writing and submitting articles is one of the most effective and cheap online marketing strategies for coaches. You must write and submit articles to other blogs within your coaching niche. This is called guest blogging.

You can also create an account and post articles to content websites such as Hubpages, Squidoo, Self-Growth etc. When your do this you will see an increase in traffic to your website, which can turn into clients.

What will you write about?
Write on topics within your coaching niche. Write articles that will actually help someone. Write how to articles. For example. 7 Days to Finding Your Passion, How to Encourage Self-Esteem in Teens, 5 Weight Loss Tips, etc. Again just write articles that will help your potential clients.

2. Build a list.

Once you start creating content, you need to create a list. Having a list is very important. If you want to earn money and be successful with your coaching business, you will need to have a huge list. Offer an ezine or ecourse on your website so that your visitors can subscribe to it. Or have a form on your website offering some free ebooks, so that the visitors can leave their email addresses.

3. Search engines.

Your website must be optimized for search engines. Search engine optimization (SEO) includes on-page and off-page SEO.

On-page SEO includes:

  •  Using the right targeted keyword phrases
  •  Placing them in your title tags, description, header, and sparingly throughout your content.

Off-page SEO includes back linking.
You must build your online presence by having many links to your website. Some ways to do this:

  • Guest Blogging. Through your content that you create. You will create and submit articles with a URL back to your website.
  • Participate in forums. One of the ways through which you can get potential coaching clients is through participating in relevant forums helping people who are your potential clients. Your signature and URL on your posts on the forum is an effective way of getting backlinks and increasing targeted traffic to your website which will boost your business’ profits.
  • Social media networking

As you build more links back to your website, major search engines will start sending traffic to your website.

4. Google Adwords.

When starting your coaching business, Google Adwords is a good place to start. You will however need to select your key words and bid for them effectively for this strategy to be viable for your business. Also, you must have a superb landing page with an optin box to capture the email of those visiting your website.

5. Google Places

Sign up to get listed on Google Places. Google Places is like the online Yellow Pages but better. When people search for coaches within your local area, you want your coaching company to come up on that list. And with the way that Google structures their searches now, the Google places listing shows up in the search results as well.
